1985

Ah, the summer of 1985, a most horrible summer for football indeed. Amidst the tragedy of Bradford, and the terror of Heysel, football didn’t dominate the headlines – supporters and safety did. Grounds were ramshackle and unsafe, and some supporters were feral and uncontrolled.

Sadly, rather than players (which we needed, as we subsequently had back-to-back relegations) it was all about the yobs on July 4th 1985.

I’m sure it’s a time Imps fans would rather forget.
