Worst Performance – Derby County (A) 5.52

I’m going to say this was a harsh shout. I think the score reflects the fact so many travelled before Christmas, hoping for some cheer, and instead, all we got was a defeat.

With their squad and the size of the club, I expected a defeat here. We scored a goal, we had a couple of chances, and 5.52 feels very poor, especially when compared to (for instance) Accrington in the cup.

Best Performance – Wigan Athletic (A) 6.74

It certainly wasn’t a classic, but the match of the month was our 0-0 draw at Wigan. This was a game we managed well, a tight encounter where one slip could cost us.

I really felt this was a good springboard for a strong month. Shows what I know.

Best Individual Performance – Lukas Jensen v Accrington (A) 7.5

Lukas is unlucky; he got two Man of the Match awards in December, one this game against Accrington and the other Bolton. He didn’t do much wrong until Northampton at home but was seventh in terms of ratings.

Still, he kept us in the game against Accrington until that final-minute rocket from their lad and deservedly picked up his second performance of the month award.
