Player of the Month – December 2023

It’s time for our monthly piece once again, and it’s been quite a month.

Actually, it’s been a rubbish month.

In December, we played six fixtures, one in the EFL Trophy and five in the league. We scored three goals, conceded eight, and amassed just two points. we didn’t win a game, we went out of the EFL Trophy and picked up more injuries than points and goals combined for New Year’s Day.

Sa 09Dec 2023 Wigan 0 – 0 Lincoln
Tu 12Dec 2023 Accrington 1 – 0 Lincoln
Sa 16Dec 2023 Lincoln 1 – 1 Reading
Th 21Dec 2023 Derby 3 – 1 Lincoln
Tu 26Dec 2023 Lincoln 0 – 1 Bolton
Fr 29Dec 2023 Lincoln 1 – 2 Northampton

Anyway, who was the best of a seemingly depleted bunch?

3rd – TJ Eyoma (6.66)

TJ has been on a roll since Michael Skubala came in. He was out of favour under Kennedy but has stormed into the side, bagging one of our goals in December.

He was top three last month as well and got your Man of the Match against Northampton, scoring 7.1 in a game that averaged 5.64.

2nd – Alex Mitchell (6.83)

Alex Mitchell has been your Player of the Month for two months on the spin, and technically, he is the first to get the highest rating for a third month. However, he may tie in terms of the numbers, but having played three of the matches in December, as opposed to the winner’s six, we are having to slide him into second.

He was your Man of the Match at Derby, and he continues to impress.

1st – Ethan Hamilton (6.83)

One of our Ethans in the middle (the only one who is fit) has already won Player of the Month once and Performance of the Month, and he’s back in the top spot for December.

He grabbed Man of the Match against Reading, and looks like one of the very few who does pose an attacking threat. We’ve tried to get him playing further up the field, and it is definitely working for him.
