16 months later, Grant completed his third spell as a caretaker manager of the Imps, which is good because any more and we’d have needed some fresh pictures of him!
This time, he stepped up when Holdsworth was sacked following a 3-2 defeat against Hereford United. His first game was a valuable point against Barrow before losing 1-0 to Mansfield thanks to (you guessed it) a last-minute Matt Green winner.
He stepped aside for a final time to allow former Imps boss Gary Simpson to take over and despite a rocky start (a draw with Woking and defeat against Macclesfield), he steered us clear of the drop.
