Ten Non-League Gems City Could Eye Up This Summer

Micah Obiero – Wealdstone

Ah, Wealdstone, forever etched in my memory because of our battle with them at the Bank in 1987/88. In fact, the pitch that day looked a lot like the clip above, but it didn’t stop Micah Obiero, a former Huddersfield Under 23 player, from impressing. He was once touted as a striker, but this season has been playing the right wing-back role for the Stones.

He’s good on the ball, and he knows the area well – he was on loan at Boston earlier in the season. There’s a huge ‘Jay Benn’ feeling here – Obiero isn’t first-team ready right now, but there are qualities there that could be accentuated by being involved in a training setup like ours, and maybe heading out on loan to another National League club next season.
