Best Individual Display – Anthony Scully v Cambridge (9.8)

It was as perfect as a performance gets, our 5-1 win at Cambridge early in the season. The sun was shining, hopes were high, and Anthony Scully was returning home. He didn’t play for Cambridge, but he grew up in the area, and his homecoming was oh so sweet. With three assists and two goals he stole the show on a great afternoon and left fans singing his name deep into the night. His goals were utterly wonderful and he was completely unplayable. It is exciting to think that he spent half the season injured or at 75% and still bagged 15. When he’s on song, he’s as good as anyone in the Lincoln squad. If only we could find the right place for him week in, week out. He’s not a winger, he’s not a nine, nor a deep midfielder. He is a goalscorer, an enigma and the first man to hit 15 in consecutive seasons since Mick Harford. He’s also likely to be the only man to get a 9.8 rating from the fanbase after a single outing.
