Alfie May
Here’s one few of you will have heard of, but I can see happening on a number of levels. First of all, May is currently with Doncaster, a side I suspect we would find business easier with due to the connections we have with them. Also, May played in the southern non-league scene and will be well-known to our management team.
He’s got nine goals this season, four in the EFL trophy, four in the FA Cup and one in the EFL Cup. He’s not getting sufficient minutes at the Keepmoat and his contract is up at the end of this season.
He’s 25-years old and has shown he can find the net, albeit in the cup. He’s 5ft 9in, so rather than a target man he’s very much the support striker, the ‘Matt Green’ figure that we’re needing to bring in.

The obvious question is do we actually need a like for like replacement for Matt Green? There are several variations but the key attribute must be the potential to play at Div 1 Level or else what is the point other than a stop gap till the summer.
