Player Assessment With a Third of the Season Gone – Pt3

Bernard Mensah

It’s hard to judge Mensah too much because we’ve barely seen him. Four appearances from the bench in the league haven’t given us a flavour of what the Bristol Rovers man can do, nor has the outing in the Checkatrade Trophy.

Aside from McCartan the loan signings have all be less than overwhelming, Mensah included. Danny is definitely intent on playing his owned players and supporting the main cast with loans. The down side is we don’t see enough of them to judge.

Mensah looks to have ability, poise and pace but all too often he’s brought on at the same time as we go long for the ball to stick up front.

Best Moment

Scunthorpe in the cup, if only because he played and we won.

5/10

  1. Shay is clearly a talented footballer however his performances have in general been good without being exceptional. I always say that good players need good players around them. Expect to see one or two significant signings in January that may well enable him to take his performances to new level.
