Five Free Agents Who Could Do a Job At Lincoln City

I do love these articles because they get taken seriously by people.

Before I start, do I think these five free agents should be signed by the Imps? No, absolutely not. However, there are a handful of players on there who could surely do a job in League One and, therefore, a solid job for Lincoln City.

It’s all for fun, though, please do remember that. Don’t tell your mates that the Stacey West thinks we should sign Eoghan O’Connell. This is where we start our list.

Eoghan O’Connell

Eoghan O’Connell is a centre back whose career has taken him from Celtic’s academy to a long spell in the EFL and, most recently, Wrexham. He came through youth football in Cork before joining Celtic in 2011, stepping into senior football in 2014 and gaining valuable experience through loans with Oldham Athletic, Cork City and Walsall.

A permanent move to Bury in June 2017 gave him a regular platform, followed by three consistent seasons with Rochdale from the summer of 2019. He moved to Charlton Athletic in June 2022, then switched to Wrexham on Deadline Day in January 2023, becoming a key part of the side that returned to the EFL in April 2023.

He is reportedly in talks with a League One club now, and that’s no surprise. He was a key player for Wrexham last season as they earned promotion.
