October was a quiet month for the Imps, with just four games for us to pick over.
With one win (Stevenage), two defeats (Orient and Exeter) and a battling draw against Bradford, we took four points from four games. It’s not a lot, but when you consider we conceded two and scored one, the month feels like a bit of a flop.
We’re still top six, though, and Stevenage and Bradford were promotion rivals. Are we going to fall down against clubs below us again? Who knows – Saturday will tell us more.
For now, we’ll look at October. Who was your Player of the Month from the Stacey West player rater?
Player of the Month
Tom Hamer (7.43)

It’s a first Player of the Month for defender Tom Hamer, who stood out for many of you in October. He twice got Man of the Match, against Orient and Bradford City, while he also impressed against Stevenage. He seized on Adam Jackson’s injury to cement a place in the first team, and looks good value for it.
There was a big shout for Adam Reach, by the way. He was on 7.40, having missed out against Orient, which is really interesting. Reach was one of only two players to come out of Exeter with seven or more, the other being Freddie Draper.
Individual Performance of the Month
Conor McGrandles (Stevenage H) 8.7

There is already a huge shout for McGrandles being the standout star of this campaign.
Against Stevenage, he really put himself about, getting 8.7 from you guys on the player rater. It’s the fourth time during his spells with the club that he’s impressed you the most in a month.
Was he that good? His pass accuracy was 93% and in total, he was involved in 50 different actions at a 68% success rate.
Best Team Performance of the Month
v Stevenage (H) 7.13

It’s not a huge surprise that the only game which we won in the month was picked as the best.
We were miles better than Stevenage, and it could (and should) perhaps have been 2-0, or more.
It’s also the third month in a row we’ve saved our best performance for a home crowd.
