At Least Two Out As Imps Visit Rotherham United

The Imps will definitely be without Ben House for this weekend’s trip to the New York Stadium.

Rotherham are in the grip of an injury crisis and could be missing as many as 12 players. We’ll be without long-term absentees Dom Jefferies and Jack Moylan, but two other players will also miss out on the trip.

Tendayi Darikwa is suspended after his red card against Salford, while Freddie Draper and Ben House both had to come off. One of those will not make the short journey west.

“Freddie’s good,” confirmed Michael Skubala on Imps+ earlier. “Freddie’s back in training which is good news.

“We’ve picked up a couple of other injuries through training the last couple of days. I don’t want to give anything away there in personnel

“Housey is going to be next couple of weeks; maybe a week, maybe a bit longer. But we’ve got one or two that have picked up a few knocks this wee,k so let’s wait and see on them as well.”

That will leave Imps fans a little concerned for the trip. Who else could miss out? Ivan Varfolomeev spent a lot of time on the turf during the bruising encounter at Salford, but he would likely be on the bench with McGrandles and Bayliss in the side.

Conor McGrandles is also a booking away from suspension, as is Ben House, who won’t make the trip.

City will be looking for a first victory at the stadium since 2019, when Tyler Walker and Harry Anderson gave us a surprise 2-0 victory, just weeks after they dropped out of the Championship, and we climbed into League One.

That was our first win in Rotherham since 1957/58, when Jack Grainger and Harry Troops gave us a 2-1 win.
