Hourihane linked with Wigan vacancy as shortlist talk continues
Barnsley head coach Conor Hourihane has been linked with the vacant Wigan Athletic job, with a report stating he is on a four-man shortlist.
The report, citing Alan Nixon, says Hourihane is one of the names being considered following Wigan’s decision to sack Ryan Lowe after the 6-1 defeat at Peterborough United. It also references previous links involving Gary Caldwell, and says two out-of-work managers are also being looked at.
The piece notes Barnsley are 15th in League One, and includes a table showing Hourihane’s record as permanent boss: 16 wins, eight draws and 17 defeats, with 1.37 points per game.
