Keillor-Dunn explains thinking behind deadline day Wrexham move

Davis Keillor-Dunn has said his move from Barnsley to Wrexham was driven by timing as well as the opportunity, explaining he felt January was the moment to make the switch.

Speaking on That Wrexham Podcast, Keillor-Dunn said Wrexham’s interest had existed across multiple windows.

“I’ll be totally honest, there has always been a little bit of interest,” he said. “Each window that’s passed, I’ve always thought, come on, let’s get it done this one. This January window was probably the one where I felt it was really close.”

The forward also referred to where he felt he was in his career.

“I was getting to an age where I was thinking, I’ve got to go now. I literally have to. For a week or two there were loads of conversations, and I was saying, if there’s one club you want to be at at the minute, it’s here, isn’t it?”

Keillor-Dunn added that his departure from Barnsley ended on good terms. His final appearance for the club saw him score twice in a win over Stevenage. The article states he leaves Barnsley with 78 appearances and 35 goals in all competitions.
