Peterborough issue banning orders after criminal damage

Peterborough United say they have issued banning orders following “incidents of criminal damage” at the Weston Homes Stadium over the weekend.

The club said a number of seats were damaged and signs were dismantled during a match at London Road. In a statement published on the club website, Peterborough said one supporter had already received a lengthy ban, with further bans and sanctions to follow once its investigation is complete.

Peterborough also said the matter had been referred to police, and that the club would continue to work with relevant authorities to identify those involved and take action. The club’s statement said anyone who undermines the matchday experience for others is not welcome at the football club.

Peterborough won the match 6-1 at home to Wigan Athletic on Saturday.
