We’ve gone from having ten players out on loan, to having eight.
Jamie Pardington was recalled from Oxford City and made the bench against Luton, while Bola Okewoye was also recalled from his spell at Grimsby Borough. He too made the bench against Luton, and is likely to do so tomorrow evening as well.
That leaves eight, so we’ll start our roundup with a look at the lads currently over in Ireland.
MJ Kamara – Glentoran
MJ is playing regular football, with two matches since our last roundup. He got 78 minutes as his side were beaten 4-1 by title-favourites Larne, but played the full 90 (98 including stoppage time) as they won 2-1 against Michael O’Connor’s Glenavon. He was a monster in the air in the second clash, winning 10 of his 13 aerial duels.
Zane Okoro – Coleraine
Zane has also appeared twice since our last roundup, and in those games his side, Coleraine, have bagged nine goals with just a single concession. Both games were against Crusaders, and while Zane featured, he wasn’t among the goals or assists. He started the 4-0 cup win, coming off after 59 minutes, and then was on the bench eight days later for the 5-1 league win, coming on for the second period.

JJ McKiernan – Burton Albion
JJ, who gave a misguided interview to Burton’s media team recently despite still being a City player, is back in the Brewers squad. We can’t recall him this winter, but he won’t be able to play tonight. That’s a good thing – he came on for 39 minutes as they beat Huddersfield 3-1, and impressed with a goal.
That came on the back of his goal in a 12-minute cameo against Boreham Wood, making it two in just 51 minutes of football since coming back from injury.
Oisin Gallagher – Boston United
Oisin has kept his place in the Boston line up, despite the change of manager, and he’s one to keep an eye on as he’s finding his feet in senior football. Two full 90s against Braintree and Halifax might have brought a single point, but he’s proven to be an asset, playing in midfield for the Braintree draw, after which Graham Coughlan was sacked.
He was then on the right side of a three-man defence as they lost 2-1 to high-flying Halifax, winning 63% of his aerial duels and all of his defensive duels, as well as making two interceptions and three clearances.
Charlie Parks – Gainsborough Trinity
Parks has been a solid starter for Gainsborough, but dropped to the bench this weekend as they beat Morpeth Town 2-1. He did get on after 59 minutes, replacing Johnny Margetts, to help the Holy Blues see the game out.
Charlie Carlisle – Lincoln United
Stand-in boss Dave Frecklington recalled Charlie Carlisle to the Lincoln United side for the 2-2 draw against Hallam a couple of weeks ago, and he’s kept his place. This week, they drew 1-1 with Silsden, conceding late, but Charlie started and looked solid.
Daniel Vanderpuye & Noah Simmons – Loughborough Students
Loughborough Students have one of the best Twitter accounts in the business, and this weekend it told a story of them going 2-0 up against Basford. Daniel Vanderpuye got their second before half time and was described as causing Basford all sorts of problems.
They conceded twice in the second half, once after their keeper was sent off on 93 minutes. Noah Simmons watched the game from the bench.
