Stacey West Announces a Triple Capture As Ten-Year Celebrations Loom

Ten years ago today, while writing for a blog I started called ‘It’s Only a Game’, I wrote my first Lincoln piece of a new era.

I’d written before, for the now-defunct Lincoln City Mad, Sky Sports, and I had my Mascot Diaries site as well. However, it was only on January 21st, 2016, that I once again started writing about the Imps. The subject? Jon Nolan. What an odd person to spark such a great project.

The site doesn’t turn ten until March 22nd, and we have a few things planned for that. Approaching our ten-year anniversary has already been exciting, going full-time and having the excellent rebrand courtesy of Samuel Rowson. Now, ten years to the day that I first sat down to write, it’s time to introduce three new members of the writing team.

Introducing Kyle

Firstly, it is my absolute pleasure to finally welcome Kyle Kennealey to the team. Kyle and I have worked together for around eight years, with me doing a little mentoring back in the days of A City United. He’s also worked for me at The Real EFL, where we wrote and podcasted, and he’s now going to be covering League One news on the site.

Kyle will also form part of a team producing a new, Stacey West-branded League One podcast. More details will be revealed shortly, but we’re going to put together a 40-minute show each week covering League One, rather than just the Imps. Chris and Charlie are also on board with that; more to follow.

Introducing David

Continuing the A City United link, let me also welcome David Ward. David won’t be writing directly for the site, but he’s collating all the local non-league football action for me on a weekly basis. Back in the days of the magazine, David went around all the newsagents in Lincoln asking them to place the publication. His work for the site will be like Stu’s; you might not see his name, but he’s going to be vital to our expanded coverage.

Introducing Kyle, again

Finally, may I also officially welcome Kyle Fox to the team. Kyle takes over from Darragh in doing the previews before each game, something usually expected 24 hours or so before the game. Kyle has been doing bits for the site over the last year or so, but will now be writing something regular for you all to read.

I’ll be adding their profile to our ‘About Us‘ page very soon, but in the meantime, please extend them a warm welcome.
