League One Latest: Burton Albion Fined, Celtic Eyeing ‘Unlikely’ £1m Swoop For Striker

Plymouth Argyle Unlikely to Lose Tolaj in January

Plymouth Argyle are expected to retain Lorent Tolaj until at least the summer despite reports linking the striker with Celtic.

Tolaj has been in prolific form since arriving from Port Vale for £1m, scoring 15 goals in 25 appearances and quickly becoming central to Argyle’s attacking threat. That output inevitably brought speculation, including talk of a substantial valuation.

However, FIFA regulations effectively rule out a January move. Having already represented two clubs competitively this season, Tolaj would be ineligible to play for another side until the next campaign, making an immediate transfer highly improbable.

For the wider League One picture, this removes a potentially destabilising factor for Plymouth. Keeping their leading scorer through the second half of the season could prove decisive as the promotion race tightens.
