Former Huddersfield Winger Hit With Four-Year Ban

Former Huddersfield Town winger Ramadan Sobhi has been suspended from football for four years following a doping ruling by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

Sobhi, who made four league appearances for Huddersfield after arriving from Stoke City, has also been accused of separate forgery offences in Egypt.

The former Premier League forward now faces a lengthy absence from the game. Egypt’s anti-doping chief confirmed the ruling:

“”We have received an official letter confirming Ramadan Sobhi’s four-year suspension in a doping case.”

The case brings an abrupt halt to a career once tipped for stardom, and leaves open questions about any potential appeal.
