Michael Skubala has revealed that another Lincoln City player has followed Oscar Thorn onto the surgeon’s table.
Thorn, our summer signing from Colchester United, had a condition we were aware of when we signed him, and after aggravating it in recent weeks, he’s had an operation.
He’ll be out for a couple of months, and it seems he’ll now be joined by Adam Jackson. The Imps’ joint longest serving player has missed the last couple of weeks, and he’ll miss the next few after also having a procedure.
“Oscar has had his surgery, which is great news,” Michael said on Imps+. “He’s on the mend straight away. Jacko’s had surgery himself, so he’ll be out for a few weeks.”
Jacko has always been unlucky with injuries, whether that was the multiple concussions in 21/22, or the broken nose courtesy of a Rotherham hatchet man last season. His current contract should see him surpass 200 appearances, but this injury will leave him on 178, for now.

Other than that, the Imps seem to have a clean bill of health. Jack Moylan returned to action properly last weekend in the second period against Wycombe Wanderers, and Dom Jefferies is also still on the comeback trail.
“DJ’s building his fitness back as we go. Obviously been out a bit longer than the rest.”
Another to return to the fold at Adams Park was Reeco Hackett, giving Michael plenty to think about in terms of team selection ahead of Port Vale’s visit this weekend.
“You saw Reeco came back,” added Michael, “which was great as well. So we’re looking great on the injury front. We’ve got numbers.”
City will be looking to keep pressure on the clubs in the top ten with a win. Having played more matches, we are in danger of being overtaken by teams down to around tenth, but a win would see us gain points on at least three of those around us, who all meet fellow promotion hopefuls this weekend.
