Former Lincoln City loanee Bailey Cadamarteri could be set for a surprise switch to Rangers as his former Sheffield Wednesday boss Danny Röhl eyes a reunion north of the border.

The 20-year-old forward, who spent last season on loan with the Imps, has been one of Sheffield Wednesday’s brighter young talents since breaking into the senior side under Röhl.

However, with the club currently in administration and facing financial uncertainty, reports suggest their resolve could soon be tested.

Röhl Keen To Reunite With Rising Star

Röhl, who left Hillsborough in the summer and recently took charge of Rangers, is said to have identified Cadamarteri as a potential target for his new side. According to reports, the Ibrox boss has instructed recruitment staff to explore a deal that could tempt Wednesday into a sale.

Cadamarteri, now a Jamaica international teammate of Dexter Lembikisa, has made 39 appearances for the Owls, scoring six goals and impressing with his pace and direct play. He made 31 appearances for City, bagging eight goals, but his spell here was disrupted by injury, and he fell out of favour after returning to fitness.

A move to the Scottish Premiership could offer him the chance to challenge for silverware and European football under a manager who knows him well.

Wednesday’s Financial Struggles Could Force Sales

Sheffield Wednesday’s off-field turmoil continues to dominate headlines. The club’s recent administration has thrown player futures into doubt, with owner Dejphon Chansiri stepping away from control. US-based businessman John McEvoy has been linked with a potential takeover, but until stability is restored, departures remain a distinct possibility.

The situation has even drawn attention from the Prime Minister, who recently paid tribute to Wednesday’s staff, supporters and players during the ongoing crisis. For Cadamarteri, the uncertainty could accelerate a move elsewhere, and with his younger brother Caelan-Kole already snapped up by Manchester City, another high-profile exit from S6 looks possible.
