It’s fair to say Zane Okoro has really done the business on loan at Coleraine.
They drew 2-2 with Linfield last night, a vital game in the NIFL title race. Okoro wasn’t on the scoresheet, but a report in the Belfast Telegraph did heap praise on our young prospect.
Okoro has had a good time so far in Ireland, with three goals in his eight outings. After taking a couple of matches to settle, he’s made the right side of the Coleraine attack his own, and has had at least one shot or more in his last six matches.
In five of those, he has notched a shot on target, but last night it was his creativity drawing praise. Already trailing 1-0, his cross created the first Coleraine chance of the night, which Matthew Shevlin missed.

He was withdrawn on 53 minutes with Coleraine trailing 2-0, but they fought back to draw 2-2. However, Okoro’s impact did not go unnoticed. The Belfast Telegraph were quick to praise his impact, writing ‘the loan signing of Zane Okoro has been a real coup for Coleraine so far ‘.
Sadly, our other loan to the NIFL has not been as much of a success. MJ Kamara is at Glentoran, who are three points behind Coleraine in second place, but with two games in hand.
MJ currently has just 18 minutes of action under his belt for The Cock and Hens, who also feature one-time Imps target Pat Hoban.
Still, it is nice to see Zane thriving, and he could possibly head back to us in the summer with some silverware and an even bigger reputation than we sent him away with.
