City go into this weekend’s early kick off against Stevenage with a clean bill of health.

Few would have had this as a top of the table clash, but with the early kick off, someone clearly had a bit of insight! After some boring matches with Stevenage, this one promises to be blood and thunder, and City go into it with a clean bill of health.

Conor McGrandles missed the last outing against Exeter with injury, but the good news is he returns after a week of training.

“Yeah, he’s good,” said Michael Skubala in his pre-match interview on Imps+. “He’s had a full training week this week, which is great news. So he’s good to go as well.”

Three players fans might not see are Justin Obikwu, Ivan Varfolomeev and Dexter Lembikisa. Lembikisia played twice for Jamaica and has been used sparingly this season already. Obikwu has a long trip back from the Caribbean and is expected in Lincoln today.

However, as Michael explained, Ivan has been back, having only been in Ukraine and Croatia, and has had a light session already.

“We’re still waiting on two to get back from where they’ve been,” Michael added.

“Ivan’s back in the building and had a light training session today. Injury-wise, nothing to report. So we’ve just got to look after them as well as they come back in, because obviously travel and playing games not so long ago.

“Touch wood, they’re all good. Just waiting for Dexter and Justin to come back in tomorrow (Friday), we hope.”

City go into the game looking to bounce back from the late 1-0 defeat against Exeter a fortnight ago. If we were to beat Stevenage, we’d become only the second side to do so after Huddersfield Town.

Saturday’s fixture is the club’s Remembrance Fixture, given that we may now play six matches away and not see the inside of our own stadium until November 28th, international call-ups permitting.

Armed forces veterans can take advantage of a ticket discount for the 12:30 kick.
