Wycombe Wanderers: Interim Chairman Charged By FA

Wycombe Wanderers interim chairman Dan Rice has been charged with misconduct by the Football Association following an alleged incident involving a Professional Game Match Officials staff member during the League One fixture at AFC Wimbledon on 27 September.

Rice, who arrived from Everton in May 2024 as chief operating officer, stepped up to the chairmanship the following month after ownership changes at Adams Park. The match at Plough Lane ended 2-1 to the hosts. The FA has given Rice until Thursday to respond to the charge.

No further details of the alleged conduct have been disclosed at this stage, and Wycombe have not issued a public statement.

The development adds an off-field storyline to a Chairboys campaign already defined by transition in the boardroom. The club completed its change in ownership structure last summer, with former owner Rob Couhig stepping down and a company headed by Mikheil Lomtadze assuming control.

On the pitch, attention turns back to maintaining consistency after the international break while the administrative process around the charge runs its course.
