The team picture used to be a staple of English football, but it’s been less popular over the years.
There is nothing quite like seeing your team in their kit, three rows deep, all smiling and full of hope for the season. I once even featured in a team picture, back in 2017/18, and it’s still proudly on my wall.
I didn’t feature in this season’s image, but nor did a handful of notable faces, which sparked worry amongst some supporters.

The team photo did feature a host of players, including our international trio, all the summer signings and almost all of our first team squad members. There was no Michael Kamson-Kamara or Zane Okoro, both on loans across the sea in Ireland. Bola Okewoye was also missing; he’s on a loan at Billericay and didn’t feature.
Those weren’t the omissions that concerned supporters. The eagle-eyed amongst us (not me, I confess) noted the absence of the injured duo, Jack Moylan and Oisin Gallagher. More concerningly, a player not thought to be injured, Adam Jackson, was also missing.

Oisin is nearing a return after a horrible time with injuries, while Jack Moylan is also sidelined once again. He picked up an injury during the 3-1 win against Harrogate earlier in the season and is not expected back much before Christmas. Adam Jackson is a different case: he’s played 11 times this season, taking his Imps career total to 175, and is considered a regular in the starting line up.
Supporters need not fear. The club’s head of marcomms, Luke Thornhill, quickly poured water on the conspiracy theories, pointing out all three players had medical appointments which could not be moved.
Apologies to those who love a conspiracy theory, but the absence of Jacko, Jack Moylan and Oisin Gallagher was due to medical appointments which could not be moved. https://t.co/sJVVfZJvTY

For Jack and Oisin, that’s not a worry as they’re both coming back, but it might be a slight concern for Adam Jackson, who completed 90 minutes against Exeter, a week after being withdrawn after 54 against Peterborough. Jacko had his injury issues in his early Imps spell, and tends to complete around 30 league matches a season.
This campaign, if he does carry injury issues at all, Tom Hamer has already proven himself adept at stepping up and sitting alongside Sonny Bradley in the middle of defence.
However, I have been informed that the photo was actually last Monday, before the Manchester United Under 21s game, meaning Adam’s medical appointment isn’t anything to worry about at all.

So there we go, no conspiracy, just a nice team photo for us all to enjoy.
