Bradford City Without Skipper

Bradford City, the side we won’t face next weekend, head to Rotherham United on Thursday without captain Max Power, who serves a one-match suspension after collecting five yellow cards in the league.

Firstly, a Thursday night? Get in the bin.

Anyway, the former Sunderland man has been a key figure since joining, but boss Graham Alexander insists his side have the collective strength to cope in his absence. He told reporters: “I believe we have tried for a long time to create a group where if any player is missing, it doesn’t detract from the overall strength of the team.

“There are elements of all the individuals that bring their own aspect to the team. But I believe we play in a way where the collective is stronger than the individual.

Alexander also provided updates on injuries, with forward Calum Kavanagh still building up his training load and defender Curtis Tilt removing his protective brace after hamstring surgery. The manager described Tilt as “a fast healer” and believes his recovery is moving in the right direction.

Victory over Rotherham would move Bradford four points clear at the top of League One, five clear of the Imps, with us having a game in hand, but not a crucial six-pointer a week later.
