Rhys Healey tipped for Huddersfield exit
Rhys Healey is being tipped to leave Huddersfield Town next summer after limited minutes since signing in 2024.
Healey, 30, remains fondly remembered at MK Dons for two prolific spells — first on loan in 2018 and then permanently in 2019 — and any free-agent market next year would surely include admirers at League One level and above.
The striker is currently on loan at Barrow, but started at Connah’s Quay Nomads before joining Cardiff City in 2013. Game time with the Bluebirds was limited, so he took a series of productive loans, notably Colchester United, Newport County and Torquay United (six in eight).
Healey’s breakthrough came at Milton Keynes Dons: after a prolific 2018–19 loan he signed permanently in 2019, hit 12 in 20 in 2019–20 and was named Players’ Player of the Year. In 2020, he moved to Toulouse, where he became Ligue 2 top scorer in 2021–22 with 20 league goals, helping TFC win promotion; he also won the Coupe de France in 2022–23 and three UNFP Player of the Month awards.
He returned to England with Watford in 2023, joined Huddersfield in 2024, and in August 2025 moved to Barrow on loan until January 2026.
It’s one to file under “watch this space” as the season wears on.
