Dexter Lembikisa is the lesser-known name from yesterday. He slipped in after 7 pm, quietly becoming a postscript to a breathless deadline day.
Having had time to dig around this morning, it’s pretty clear we’ve signed a player who could well be a major coup. He’s got 23 international caps for Jamaica, has (briefly) played Premier League for Wolves and was on trial at Charlton earlier in the window. One of the agent-led exclusive sites suggests we beat Charlton to his signature, but it feels like perhaps they left the race.
However, that means we’ve pulled in a defender who was on the radar of a Championship club and who could be a serious addition to the Imps squad between now and January.
Across Premier League 2, the Championship, Scotland’s top flight, Switzerland, League One and full internationals, his data tracks a wing-back who can also lock in at orthodox right-back or step across the line when required.

2025/26
Wolves U21 start to the new season has seen Lembikisa used on both flanks and even as the left centre-back in a back three. In Premier League 2 against Blackburn, Stoke and Burnley, he logged heavy minutes and a 61% action success in two of the three outings, with pass accuracy between 62% and 81%. Long distribution was efficient in patches, peaking at 100% against Stoke and 67% at Burnley, while crossing volume remained low.
Defensively, he won 57–60% of duels in two games, with aerial returns more mixed. Headline per-90s so far read 55.5 total actions at 59.3% success, 29.6 passes at 72.2% accuracy and 20.4 duels at 56.7%, underlining an active defender who is seeing plenty of the ball and contact in wide areas without sacrificing reliability.

2024/25
This was the broadest season of his career. Domestically, he featured for Barnsley in League One in a range of roles, including right-back, both wing-back slots, right wing and even a late cameo in defensive midfield. His best all-round Barnsley display in the run-in came at Peterborough, posting 76 actions at 63% with 72% passing, strong duel work and balanced long distribution. Earlier, at Reading, he produced 62 actions at 60% with 68% passing and 100% success in the limited dribble sample, again at right-back.
Internationally, he started two Gold Cup qualification ties for Jamaica at right-back, completing near-full matches with 71–74% pass accuracy, double-figure recoveries and perfect aerial numbers in one outing. He also played Premier League 2 minutes for Wolves U21s in January, including a 98-minute shift versus Manchester City U21 with solid passing and duel output.
In Switzerland’s Super League, he appeared for Yverdon Sport, twice used as a wide attacker or wing-back, delivering high crossing accuracy against Lausanne and steady ball retention at Luzern. The campaign’s headline per-90s settle around 57.3 total actions at 60.4% success, 34.9 passes at 68.8%, 17.5 duels at 57.6% and 12.0 losses with 35.5% in his own half, painting the picture of a high-involvement wide defender adapting across systems.

2023/24
A split season between Rotherham United in the Championship, Heart of Midlothian in the Scottish Premiership and Jamaica at senior international level showcased his step-up resilience. For Rotherham, he was predominantly a right-back or right-sided defender, often logging 100+ minute matches with steady passing in the mid-60s to low-70s and frequent long deliveries.
He scored in a 2–1 home win over Norwich and later, on loan at Hearts, added another goal in the 3–2 victory against Dundee, plus a late strike in the 3–3 draw with Rangers when used higher or as a rampaging wing-back. Several Hearts outings featured 70–85% pass accuracy, 50–80% cross completion in small samples and robust defensive numbers, notably in a clean sheet at Kilmarnock, where he combined 65% action success with strong duel returns.
For Jamaic,a he started in Nations League A, including 98 minutes in a 1–0 win at Panama and an extended shift versus the United States, contributing clean defensive work and ball progression. Season headline rates settle around 56.9 actions at 55.6% success, 30.6 passes at 70.6% accuracy, 18.6 duels at 50.9% and 11.8 losses per 90, reflecting a young full-back learning amid high-tempo environments.

2022/23
The breakthrough year mixed Wolves U21, senior Wolves cups and early Jamaica exposure. In Premier League 2, he posted some of his tidiest on-ball work, with several outings above 75% passing and strong crossing samples. He delivered a goal in PL2 versus Arsenal U21 and an assist against Leicester U21, while EFL Trophy ties for Wolves U21 at Stockport, Shrewsbury and Port Vale provided senior-style tests at right-back or on the opposite flank.
He also tasted senior action for Wolves in the FA Cup against Liverpool, handling the step with 65% passing and 100% aerial success in one of the ties.
Internationally, he debuted in March friendlies and played Nations League minutes soon after. The season’s overall per-90s show 70.6 actions at 62.7% success, 42.4 passes at 76.2%, 19.8 duels at 54.8% and 12.2 losses, numbers that underline a development-phase defender comfortable in possession and unafraid of the duel count that comes with aggressive wide defending.

Summary
Across four seasons, Lembikisa’s data profiles a modern wide defender who can toggle between right-back and wing-back, with credible cameos on the left and even at centre-back or midfield when needed. Passing typically sits near or above 70% in senior contexts, long-ball execution holds up, and duel volume is consistently high with near-break-even or better success.
The competition spread is unusually rich for his age: Premier League 2 and EFL Trophy for Wolves U21, senior cup minutes for Wolves, a Championship loan at Rotherham, a productive stint with Hearts in the Scottish Premiership, Swiss Super League outings for Yverdon Sport, League One minutes with Barnsley, and full senior internationals for Jamaica.
It is a portfolio that points to adaptability, steady technical reliability and the athletic range to handle both sides of the pitch.
