Jack Moylan’s wretched time with injury has continued, with confirmation that he is set for three months on the sidelines.
The popular attacker missed three months last season after injuring his ankle, and once again, it is his ankle keeping him out. This time, it’s his other ankle, injured in the 83rd minute of our 3-1 victory against Harrogate in the EFL Cup.
The extent of the injury was not immediately clear, but in his pre-match press conference ahead of Burton Albion, Michael Skubala confirmed fans’ fears.

“Jack Moylan has had an operation,” he said. “He’s going to be out of action for three months, probably, with a similar injury he had last season. So that’s disappointing. But he’s already on the mend and back in the building on crutches.”
It’s not all bad news – Michael also confirmed Dom Jefferies was back on the grass after missing the tail end of last season, while Lewis Montsma is also likely to feature on the bench this evening.
“Lewis Montsma has been on the grass, and we’re going to see how he reacts today. So he could get on the bench because one of the advantages of the Carabao, you get nine substitutes, so we can carry some more on the bench as well.
“Back on the bench tomorrow, which is great news for him, us, and yeah, it just feels like now we’re starting to get a few more bodies in the building with recruitment and a few more bodies slowly coming back from injury.”

Jack Moylan For City
Losing Jack Moylan is still a big blow for the Imps. The popular attacker joined in the winter of 2023 from Shelbourne and has impressed during his stay with the club. He has featured in three league matches and a Carabao Cup tie this season, recording one goal from 235 minutes of action.
Last season, he impressed in the FA Cup, breaking the deadlock against Chesham as well as scoring in the win against Crawley. In total, he bagged five goals and added two assists, but struck just twice in the league – from the penalty spot against Stevenage, and the leveller at Bristol Rovers.
Curiously, only two of his nine goals have come at Sincil Bank, both in the same game, as we thrashed Cambridge United 6-0.
