Jason Minett (1989/90 UEFA Cup, Norwich City)
Okay, so Minett wouldn’t have played for Norwich – the young midfielder was on the books at Carrow Road when they qualified for the 1989–90 UEFA Cup. However, Minett’s first team experience was limited and he didn’t appear all season. Still, he could have, so he’s on the list.
Signed from Exeter City in the summer of 1995, he played during the challenging times spanning Ellis, Wicks and Beck, before heading back down to the Grecians.

Paul Williams (1989/90 UEFA Cup, Derby County)
I remember Williams’ short loan spell. He stood out a mile and was composed and classy, despite playing just three times. He came from Derby and went on to make 194 appearances for them, as well as 199 for Coventry City.
He was still emerging through the ranks at Derby County in the late 1980s. The Rams earned UEFA Cup qualification for 1989–90, but Williams—like the rest of the squad—never got to appear, as England’s exclusion from European football remained in force during that season.
