Conor McGrandles

36 (5) – 0 Goals

A consistent presence, if not a standout. Often under scrutiny by supporters for some reason, Conor’s discipline and work rate kept him in the lineup. With midfield constantly changing around him, he provided valuable stability, even if fans sometimes felt he gave the ball away too much (which I’m going to look into over the summer, myth or fact type thing).

JJ McKiernan

2 (10) – 0 Goals

JJ showed glimpses of real quality, but struggled for game time. Injuries and the emergence of others kept him sidelined, but he has had plenty of experience playing for Burton at this level now. He could be a useful option from the bench, and still one for the future.

Lewis Montsma

12 (4) – 1 Goal

After a long injury layoff, Lewis found opportunities limited. I think the fact that he couldn’t play back-to-back games was an issue, because we often kept the same back three/four. Questions remain about whether he’s back to his best, but there’s still hope that a consistent run next season might restore his rhythm.

Jack Moylan

11 (16) – 2 Goals

Jack was a bright spark before injury struck. He has flair and fearlessness and was pushing into the starting lineup early in the season. I like his style, he reminds me a bit of Paul Gascoigne with his demeanour. If he can stay fit, he’ll be one of the most exciting players in the squad.
