Worst Performance – Morecambe (H) 5.54

It could have been so different. If only we’d taken those first-half chances, I could be writing this on a Saturday when the Imps were heading to Wycombe for yet another game.

It was a tough afternoon, as is any afternoon when a lower-league club knocks you out of the FA Cup. Still, we got a couple of gems – Ali Smith earned a Man of the Match from you guys, and the defeat meant Michael Skubala got to give some tired bodies a rest.

Always look for the positives.

Best Performance – Cambridge United (A) 7.16

Three goals, a clean sheet, three points, and the opposition manager getting the boot afterwards. That does make a victory seem quite comprehensive, and our most recent win was certainly that. It’s the first league away win that has won Performance of the Month since Ipswich last October, something well worth waiting for.

It’s also a teaser as to what might be coming from City. Cambridge were poor, there’s no doubt about that, but you take the victories however they come.

Best Individual Performance – Ethan Erhahon v Cambridge (8.30)

We’ve got Ethan in the middle, etc etc. Last month, we were signing about Ethan Hamilton as he pushed hard for Player of the Month. Now, we’re back to Ethan ‘God’ Erhahon, a player we know can go to the Championship. He had a tough month or so around MK’s departure, but he was back on form in the games against Barnsley and Cambridge.

87% pass accuracy overall, 87% accuracy on forward passes, 89% accuracy on passes into the final third and 70% of his duels won, make this a standout performance from the midfield general, once again.
