Hakeeb Adelakun

Ok, so Haks was one who might have left in the summer, but that’s not going to be the case and perhaps he’s one we might see rejuvenated by the arrival of the new manager. Let’s face it, he wasn’t a fan favourite last season, and he took the brunt of the stick, I think. He didn’t do badly in some matches; MK Dons on Boxing Day being one where I thought he played well. He did fall foul of the Michael Appleton ‘one strike, and you’re out’ rule, getting a drink at Carlisle during a phase of play from which they scored, and that was more or less that. We stuck Chris Maguire on the wing over Hakeeb, and that really didn’t work either.
Here’s the facts’ Maguire will likely not play for the Imps again, but Haks has been a big part of pre-season. They say one man’s trash is another man’s treasure, and I can see how that could be the case here. Look how Jorge Grant was doing for Danny; he didn’t really had an impact, but under Michael, he thrived. I recall players such as Ryan Amoo being good for John Schofield, and poor for Peter Jackson. The list goes on and maybe, just maybe, Haks can get back to his Scunthorpe United form. We’ve seen his ability; his goal at Bradford was excellent and he played well at Cambridge as well. Maybe he is one who can become like a new signing this summer.
I think you’re spot on Gary. These four will come good. We saw just enough of Sanders and Sorenson to see potential. And Hopper and Adelukan are in the form is temporary, class is permanent mould.
