Five Things We Hope Mark Kennedy Can Change

Don’t Close The Door

One aspect of Michael’s reign which didn’t always fit with the way I’d like to see the club run was the fact once a player was out, he was out. We saw it early with Ben Coker, Tom Pett and Lee Frecklington, but this season has been even more obvious. Sean Roughan was dropped from view after we lost to Portsmouth, and besides a game against Bowers and Pitsea, has barely been seen again. Theo Archibald was doing well at Orient, but had the door closed on him before he’d even come back to train. Max Sanders and Hakeeb Adelakun saw more of the bench than any players I’ve known, whilst some others struggled to justify their inclusion week after week.

I’d just like to see a player who goes out on loan and doesn’t do badly given a chance. Id’ like to see players who have made a mistake kept around the squad, brought back in with an arm around the shoulder, not the cold shoulder. That’s how it looked at times from the outside looking in.
