Build the Connection

As many of you know, I haven’t put a lot of weight behind the ‘no connection to fans’ argument. I think Michael was unlucky to have his best days in empty stadiums, and not have the fans there to build a report with. By the time we did get back in the ground, the expectation was sky-high. I guess a different manager might have gone out of his way to build rapport, but that wasn’t in Michael’s nature, and people didn’t feel a connection with him as they did with Danny Cowley.

That’s something I hope Mark can address. It seems some supporters do need a fist pump every now and again, it buys a manager a bit of time. Not much, by the way, just ask Danny who had a strong connection but still felt the need to go on a charm offensive from time to time. Still, it would be nice not to read about disconnection all the time, and when we’re not winning matches, a manager with a good rapport with fans can buy himself some breathing space.
