Worst Performance of the Month – Accrington Stanley (A) 4.75
You could say this was a case of after the Lord Mayor’s Show, because the elation from getting clear of relegation was quickly washed away. We weren’t just poor at Accrington; we were really poor. In hindsight, it seems like a game in which some of the players knew the manager was going, and it was certainly a game that had nothing riding on it. The only highlight was a goal from Lewis Fiorini, and I sincerely hope every travelling fan has something other than the football to remember the day by.

Best Performance of the Month – Charlton Athletic (A) 7.44

What is it about Lincoln City and the big games? When we go away to big clubs, we inevitably produce a good performance, and the trip to Charlton was no exception. It had everything, a couple of red cards, goals, drama and a big three points for us. In the grand scheme of things, it didn’t mean a huge amount – City were actually saw on March 12th after winning away at Wimbledon. This was just posturing, players looking like they wanted to play for the club. It was an afternoon to remember for many, and certainly the best performance of the month.

Best Individual Performance of the Month – Lewis Fiorini v Cheltenham (8.20)

Last month I proclaimed it as being Lewis Fiorini’s month; he got the performance of the month and finished second in the player rankings. In April, he went one better, getting both awards. He was sensational against Cheltenham, he ran the show with ease, and he is the first player to win the award twice for home games. That’s in contrast with him being ranked second in the Away Player of the Season Award as well – he finished strongly for City and his loan, overall, has been a success.
