Max Sanders

Destiny has a plan for Max Sanders, but I don’t think that plan includes being the natural successor to Liam Bridcutt, which I felt he was when he joined. Max is an odd one; whenever I’ve seen him come on as a sub, he’s done okay, but when he’s started games, he seems to struggle. Think about Wimbledon last season, the 0-0 final home game of the campaign; nothing. Same again this weekend, and whilst he wasn’t named by Michael as having played his last game for the club, it does seem to be the inference. Now, if he starts tomorrow, then we can assume we were all wrong and there is a future here for him. If he doesn’t, a move to London over the summer wouldn’t surprise me. What are the odds on Wimbledon keeping an eye on the situation, I wonder?
I really have enjoyed reading your comments week after week Gary, even the exasperating “played well but lost” theme of so many of them. All I ask is that Michael tries to get a good balance of age and experience and youthful ability for next season. Hard, I appreciate, with only what he can find stuffed down the back of the couch. I’ll settle for a safe mid-table end to next season with a few really good home performances on the way. Oh, and please lads, can we have a good win on Saturday against Crewe? Send us home (or to the pub) feeling good, not full of foreboding. Don’t let us down.
