Four Transfers a Reputable Site Thinks the Imps Might Be Involved in this Winter

James Norwood

I did wonder how long it might be. I can just hear people’s mouths beginning to froth at the thought of us signing a player who reached his peak three years ago, claiming ‘he knows where the net is’ despite scoring fewer goals than our current nine, Tom Hopper last season. I’m not saying Norwood would be a bad signing, but I really don’t see him being the type of player we’re going to target in the winter window. There’s no resale value here, and for those getting excited, he actually does have a poor injury record of late, unlike Chris Maguire who people were arguing was injury-prone a couple of months ago.

So, who else wants him? Portsmouth, if the article is accurate, but then maybe not if their local press is to be believed. Plymouth are also linked and that wouldn’t surprise me as much; he’s from Eastbourne and I could see him heading back to the south west, where he previously lived whilst playing for Exeter and Forest Green. He has been transfer-listed by Ipswich and we have bought their players in the past (Ted Bishop), but I can’t see this coming off.
