There’s just two players on the list who appeared for a League One club last season and one is Josh Parker. He last scored goals for Gillingham in 2018/19 (four) and has since been with Burton and Wycombe, and in fairness, he is one who would be a probable. When I put ‘chances of signing for City’, I don’t mean we’re close, I mean he’s the sort of player we could sign. Lots of League One experience, not likely to cost the earth and a striker. Those are the only criteria, right?

I’d have to suggest that Jones is a player fans would not deem good enough to play for us; although he did score nine in 19 for Port Vale at this level back in 2016/17. He bagged five in 24 outings for Bradford City in League One, and most recently appeared for Northampton where he scored once in nine matches. He was invited to train with Northampton this summer, but declined.
