Wickham has played a lot of Premier League football, and at one point he was regarded as one of the brightest young players in the English game. He’s never been hugely prolific, but he is a handful at times although his recent spell at Palace has been poor. He’s struggled with injuries and has made just 42 Premier League outings in six seasons. It’s likely a lower-end Championship club could still take a punt on him, but he’s only 28 and may look one level lower for some first-team football to get his confidence back. He is a bit like Hopper, a strong unit who could easily deputise, but would he want to?
