Speaking of Rotherham, they’re a bit like an old friend. Of all the other new teams we’ll face, all six of them, there have been 102 meetings. There have been 101 between us and Rotherham, excluding fixtures between us and both Rotherham County and Rotherham Town, who merged in 1925 to form United.
There will be plenty of familiar faces for us to enjoy too. Josh Vickers recently penned a new two-year deal with them, despite not appearing at all last season, and I’m sure having to play Lincoln again will kill Michael Ihiekwe. Former Imps’ goalkeeper coach Andy Warrington is there too.
Rotherham have either been promoted or relegated in seven of the last nine seasons, with eleven divisional changes since the turn of the century. They’ve only had one season at this level where they haven’t been promoted or relegated, 2005/06. expect them to challenge.
