Where Do The Imps Rate In Random Stat Tables?

1v1 Dribble Success

I picked these categories for a reason; age because of the new method in recruitment, possession because it’s always talked about on the radio and subs because I was genuinely interested if there was a correlation between changes and league position. The final stats I’ve picked for today (and I might do more through the blackout) is 1v1 dribbling.

I felt this used to be a strong point of ours, from Nathan Arnold to Bruno Andrade, the flying winger has been something of a trademark of ours. Even Harry Toffolo from the defence was able to show a nice drop of the shoulder at times, so I was certain we’d do well here, be somewhere around the top. The success average in the division is 53.01%, with the top team in terms of success, Sunderland, on a 58% success rate. The next four are Blackpool (56.9%), Shrewsbury (56.8%), Ipswich (56.2%) and Fleetwood (55.5%).

Where do the Imps come? Surprisingly, we’re way down the table in 23rd, the very worst in the division, with 49.5% success rate for 1v1 dribbles. We’ve attempted 947, the 11th-highest in the division, an average of 24.2 per game, but getting past the defenders is proving troublesome. With far fewer natural wingers in the squad and perhaps not quite as much pace in those areas as we have enjoyed, it’s certainly an area to see us work upon.
