Aaron Lewis
Lewis is a player many Imps fans seem to think highly of. His outing against Everton certainly painted him in a good light and he’ll be hoping for game time tonight; either to stake a claim for a longer deal or to put himself in the shop window.
The change of manager could work in his favour. Michael Appleton has stated he wants younger players around the squad, players with ‘legs’ on whom he can rely for that extra bit of fitness and endeavour late on. It’s one of our side’s qualities already, being fitter in the last quarter of the game, but perhaps the boss wants energy early on too.
It’s not going to be easy to knock Neal Eardley out of the side and I’m still firmly behind the man our social media team have dubbed ‘the postman’, but his deliveries haven’t been on time as much this season and perhaps Aaron Lewis is more DPD than Royal Mail.
Just hope changes are made the centre of defence is not strong and lacks class and leadership defence plays to deep forwards not on good form and a shake up is needed. Keep the faith trust in Appleton and we will see this season out successfully although new players are needed with others to leave
