The Forgotten Strikers of 2002/03

Allan Pearce

9 (12) Apps, 1 Goals

Young forward who was one of Keith Alexander’s lesser-known signings. He made his debut in the tempestuous 2-2 draw with Cambridge which saw Scott Willis sent off, along with Luke Gutteridge and Terry Fleming.

Pearce was a future New Zealand international, but his time at Lincoln was defined by endless appearances from the subs bench, and whenever he did get a chance he often seemed to be out of his depth.

He scored once for Lincoln as we ran out 3-0 winners at home to Hartlepool in 2003, and he was an unused sub as we went down 5-2 in the play-off final.

Despite a friendly goal against Kevin Keegan’s Man City he wasn’t able to secure a first team spot and he left at the end of the 2003/04 season.
