The Forgotten Strikers of 2002/03

Chris Ward

He made his Imps debut on November 2nd, making him the next up in our list. However, he made just three appearances before sitting out until February.

He was a tall striker signed by Keith Alexander from Leigh Genesis, having been on the books of Birmingham City as a youngster.

He scored twice in eight outings, once as we ran out 4-1 winners at Carlisle and once to earn us a vital draw against Darlington. Sadly for him, he couldn’t nail down a first team place and Keith didn’t feel he offered the goal threat that his signing was intended to do.

He was released after the play-off final defeat by Bournemouth and ended up at Northwich, taking the opposite route to Adie Mike.
