Kellan Gordon

Occasionally, someone comes to the club and doesn’t get a lot of football, but when they’re gone you just know they’ll do well somewhere. Kellan Gordon is that player.
We saw Kellan from the bench on six occasions in the league. When he signed, we were led to believe he was right back cover and maybe that was the intention, but when he got on the ball it was clear he was a wing back at worst and a winger at best.
He scored two goals, both in big matches. He won us the game against Forest Green coming in off the right flank, just as he almost had the clash with Mansfield.
It’s hard to write a lot about a player with six substitute appearances but I felt with Kellan Gordon, I needed to get it off my chest. One day, this kid will play 40-odd games for a Football League side and at the end of the season, that side will be lauding his input. He’s a very good footballer who was the right man at the wrong time.
I wouldn’t be disappointed if we signed him next season for six months and gave him more appearances from the bench.
Bernard Mensah

From a man with six appearances from the bench, to one with just four. I was genuinely excited when Bernard Mensah signed, I felt we’d bagged a player who would be a big part of our season.
In truth, aside from a passionate celebration of our late goal against MK Dons, he may as well not have arrived at all.
His first interview impressed me, he came across as reserved and intelligent, a man with a significant amount to offer. Whether he, like Gordon, was the right man at the wrong time or not I don’t know.
We barely saw him and when he was on the pitch it was hard to tell. He has since enjoyed a successful National League loan but I think he’s got a lot to offer a lower League Two side, something we’ve not been since 2011.
The Forward line needs to be seriously looked at before next season, not sure if the current bunch will achieve in
League One. Im sure Danny will sort it in the closed season.
You are very generous to Harry. I’m afraid he had reached his potential.
