Lee Frecklington

One of the real stories of last season was the homecoming of Lee Frecklington, a Lincoln lad with the club running through his veins. It was always going to be him that bagged the winning penalty in the EFL Trophy semi-final and although Luke hoisted the silver aloft, this weekend it will be Freck having the honour.
In the early part of the season I thought Freck was excellent. He bagged three goals in three matches and against Exeter gave us a look at the Freck of old, the player who left for Posh all those years ago. he was running the midfield, slick and composed and would seemingly play a huge part in our season.
Although he’s been a key player all season, injury issues have plagued him somewhat.
The red card against Crawley, justified I might add, stopped that for a second, but he came back just as strong and impressed at home against Crewe. We then went to Port Vale and he looked sharp again, only to be pole-axed by Scott Brown and put out of action.
I believe since then he’s not been able to find the level of fitness he showed early doors. The knock kept him out and although he’s been a key player all season, injury issues have plagued him somewhat. He’s found his game time limited as the season has worn on and only the strong squad depth has prevented it being a serious hinderance to our title charge.
He’s our captain and a big influence off the field as well as on it. he might not have got the goals he would have liked, but certainly in the early stages of the season he had a big impact.

Concerned about Frecks. Fully fit an asset but if mot a big financial liability.
Chapman didn’t play enough to judge him.
Freck in overall was a disappointment.
O’hara was very good. If we’ll sign him that could be a massive player for us…
Pett was ok. far better as CM than winger. Tidy on the ball. Not enough all important final passes/assists like for me though…
O’Connor had very good season. In some games he was class. Question mark would be his fitness and ability to play every game I guess..
What we are missing in our midfield is more creativity in my opinion.
