‘Best team in the league… fact’ – Former players, opposition fans & Imps supporters line up to congratulate the champions

Another weekend, another raft of congratulations coming the way of the Imps. That’s the way it seems to be right now as we secured the title, one week after winning promotion.

We needed results elsewhere and Tranmere became the only team we’ve failed to score against this season, although Colchester could join them on the final day.

Anyway, we’re not looking to the negatives here. we’re the Champions of League Two, title winners in the Football League for the first time in 43 years. It may be milking it somewhat, but I’ve been scouring Twitter for congratulatory messages and the like.

Some former players have been congratulating the club, as have some pundits and supporters of other clubs. Of course, there’s plenty of Imps fans doing that as well, so I’ve grouped together three different lots of tweets for you to enjoy. The first, former players. The second, pundits and opposition fans and finally the third, our supporters.

I won’t share it and be a pain on social media, but if looking at people saying nice stuff about us is your bag; you’re welcome.

As well as former players, a number of fans and pundits joined in the congratulations.

Aaaaand finally; here’s some of your messages following our most successful 0-0 draw ever.
