Five League one players out of contract this summer who could improve the Imps’ squad

Jack Grimmer

Do we need a new right back? Probably not.

Do we need competition for places and fresher legs on the right side of defence if we go up? Yes.

Jack Grimmer would be ideal. He was virtually ever-present for Coventry last season, having made his name at Aberdeen before a move to Fulham. He spent time with Shrewsbury on loan, but looked a cut above once he’s made his move to the Ricoh Arena.

He was a sure-fire thing for starts this season, but Mark Robins drafted in Dujon Sterling from Chelsea and Grimmer has found his chances limited. His initial deal with the Sky Blues is up and as yet, there’s no talk of a new one.

He’s 25, represented Scotland from Under 15 to Under 21 level and is surely waiting for the right club to come and save him from his Sky Blue nightmare.
