Ollie Hawkins
Could it be? 18 months ago Hawkins was thought to be in Lincoln and close to a deal, but Portsmouth stepped in and took him from under our noses. He ousted Brett Pitman as the target man for Pompey earlier in the season, playing a lone front role in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with Jamal Lowe and Ronan Curtis overlapping.
He bagged six in eight matches for them through October and November, but hasn’t been on the score sheet since November 27th. he hasn’t played for Pompey since New Years Day, but he picked up a hamstring injury in the 2-0 win against Walsall after starting the game.
This is another long shot, but again you never know with Danny. He loves to keep after the same players time and again and we know Hawkins fits the bill of a man you can play into and up to as well.
It’s going to be an interesting few hours…..
