Thanks – Theo Robinson
With the FA Cup third round just a couple of days away, it’s perhaps only fitting to include ‘FA Cup Theo’ in this list. He joined us after being released by Port Vale and went on to write his name into Imps folklore.
Robinson was a hard-working player who seemed to work that extra bit harder when the occasion called for it. His brace at Ipswich perhaps stands out as the most memorable of his FA Cup goals, but he will forever have had a key role in one of the greatest periods in Lincoln City’s history.
Had they not released him, we might never have got to Portman Road. We might not have had that extra cash to pump into pur promotion charge and who knows, we might not even be hosting league football right now.
Cheers Port Vale, seriously.
